today sees the addition of 3 new links - the sartorialist (featuring new photographers), shooting strangers in orchard rd (orchard rd street photography), exuberant singapore (poetic renditions of singapore's ambitions and developments). for those interested.
in the landscape architecture (LA) profession, i can see parallels to the christian profession.
outside people misunderstand what this profession is about.
they laugh at and ridicule the profession for what it is not.
they don't realise how much of things they enjoy in this life are actually designed by such people.
discussing LA issues and concepts with non-LA people is like playing music to a cow.
u get misunderstood, frustrated, and get no where far with their suggestions.
the joy and ease of being with likeminded people, passionate about the same things.
sharing information, techniques and methodologies - grabbing the plan and model from seniors, exchanging files, learning new shortcuts for photoshop, teaching how to use illustrator.
sharing the burdens, understanding the struggles, helping one another along.
the fierce loyalty, the extreme helpfulness, knowing that we need all the help and numbers we can get.
but why is it that often it is so sorely lacking in the christian community?
